‘School of Rock’ Breaks House Records

New York, NY – School of Rock – The Musical kicks off 2016 by besting its own record-breaking week at the Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway). Grossing $1,671,621.59 and with houses at 102.1% capacity (103.8% of gross potential) the week ending January 3, Broadway’s new hit musical breaks its own house record set just last week. School of Rock, which had a special nine-performance week over the holiday, surpasses its previously held record set during last week’s eight performances while also breaking Mamma Mia’s! nine-performance-week record set in 2006.
“We could not have ended 2015 on a higher note, and we look forward to 2016 bringing School of Rock to greater audiences on Broadway, in London, and at the hundreds of schools themselves that will be performing the show across America,” said Andrew Lloyd Webber.
A new block of single and group tickets will go on sale Wednesday, January 6 at 10:00 AM. Single tickets will be on sale through Sunday, October 2, 2016 and group tickets through May 28, 2017.
Beginning Tuesday, January 5 the playing schedule for School of Rock – The Musical will shift to Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM, Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2:00PM, and Sunday matinees at 3:00 PM.

School of Rock – The Musical opened on Broadway to rave reviews on Sunday, December 6, 2015. And in his four-star Critics’ Pick review, Time Out’s David Cote proclaimed, “School’s IN – forever!”
School of Rock – The Musical will have its London premiere in the fall of 2016 at the famed London Palladium.
Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock – The Musical features music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.
