“Peter and the Starcatcher”, which is playing its last Broadway performance on January 20th, has been gathering some year-end kudos from such heavyweights as the New Yorker, New York Times and New York Magazine to name a few.

“In this innovative and imaginative new play, based on The New York Times best selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, a company of twelve actors plays more than a hundred unforgettable characters, all on a journey to answer the century-old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? This epic origin story of one of popular culture’s most enduring and beloved characters proves that an audience’s imagination can be the most captivating place in the world.”

While normally StageLight shies away from what one might see as blatant self-congratulation/promotion, this show deserved every one of the Tony Awards it received, so we’ll let it go. This time!

If you haven’t seen the show, do it before the 20th of January… you might find it difficult afterwards.
