The summer is in full swing and that means the arrival of a whole new season of plays and musicals. And perhaps none is as highly-anticipated as the musical over at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The hype, the reviews, and the sales have been absolutely phenomenal for this brand new musical arriving straight from the Public Theatre.

Hamilton marks the glorious return to the Broadway stage of one of New York’s hottest names: Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda is best known for his Tony Award-winning musical In The Heights. Miranda pens the book, music, and lyrics for this latest historical venture. Oh, and did we mention he is also the star? With his singing and acting, Miranda truly is a quintuple threat!

Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail who also directed Broadway’s Magic/Bird, Lombadi, and (of course) In The Heights. Joining Miranda onstage are a very talented group of performers including Phillipa Soo (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812) and Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, In My Life, and HBO’s Looking).

Hamilton follows the rise of American President Alexander Hamilton as he climbs the ladder from orphan to Secretary of the Treasury. Along the way, Hamilton becomes a war hero and is embroiled in a sex scandal on his path to changing the course of American history.

Hamilton is currently in previews and officially opens August 6th. The buzz has been extremely popular and tickets are likely to become even more difficult to come by after the opening. So grab your tickets to the most exciting Broadway arrival this season. You will be very happy you did!
